Tinubu to Opposition: Resolve Your Internal Crises Ahead of 2027
Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigeria’s opposition parties to address their internal challenges as the nation approaches the 2027 general elections. He dismissed allegations suggesting a plan to impose a one-party system in the country.
The President made this statement on Friday during the commissioning of the newly completed Left-Hand Service Carriageway of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) Stage II — a significant road infrastructure project stretching from Ring Road 1 Junction to Wasa Junction, popularly known as the Apo-Wasa Road, in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, President Tinubu emphasized that his administration has no mandate or intention to interfere in the affairs of opposition parties, stating that the responsibility for internal party unity lies within the opposition itself.
“I can’t be the one to fix the problems in the opposition,” Tinubu declared. “They must put their house in order ahead of 2027.”
Reaffirming his commitment to democratic principles, the President reiterated his stance on political inclusiveness and multi-party democracy, referencing his recent Democracy Day address.
“As a President elected on the platform of a political party, I respect and uphold the essence of political pluralism,” Tinubu added. “I remain committed to a democratic Nigeria.”
The commissioning of the Apo-Wasa Road marks another milestone in the Federal Government’s drive to improve infrastructure and enhance urban mobility in the Federal Capital Territory.
