Fast-rising act in the music industry Moses Peter aka 9iz Pee has revealed his songs are composed for Grammy ratings only. 9iz Pee, who just released a single titled “Sisi Eko“.
In this interview with an Alpha News correspondence, he opened up about his career and how he has gone through the good and bad sides to get to where I was.
Can we meet you?
I am Moses Peter, born in a family of five, four boys and one girl. I am the firstborn and you know the pressure on the firstborn to succeed.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Kogi State. Ankpa to be precise. Growing up was fun, the setting is different from what we have in this present age. Although life is advanced in technology, growing up back then was more fun and you can see morals and culture being imbibed. The community raised us then and we were better for it. You can not misbehave because everyone in the community has the right to discipline you.
What about your Education background?
I finished at Esep University in the Benin Republic. I tried going to some Nigerian universities but let’s say that’s how God wants it.
We heard you just released a single?
Yes, it is titled “Sisi Eko“.The song is trending and I am impressed by the love shown to me. The song shows the beauty of African women and how they add glamour to the City of Lagos.
The song was inspired by my experiences and Life in Lagos City.Let’s talk about your music career. When did you start music?
I started music in 2004, it was my passion and I was glad I discovered it early and set out for it. I started going to music competitions then and won several awards. I released my first single in 2010, it was possible with the support from my friends then.
Who is your role model in music?
I loved 2baba from the beginning and I am still one of his greatest fans. If you listen to 2baba songs, his lyrics are magical and well structured, that’s one of the reasons I loved him and his style of writing lyrics has inspired me when writing my songs too.
I am lyrics sensitive and I believed songs should tell stories and should be easily comprehended by fans.
I write songs that are worthy of Grammies award and it’s my dream to be on that big stage as the recipient. I have given myself the Target to win it before the year 2024 by the grace of God.
What about your Marital life?
I am not married and not searching. The focus is on my music and how I can use my brand of music to touch lives and souls.
I want to thank my fans, they are part of me and I will keep on working to make sure they are not disappointed.
