Some suspected hoodlums on Tuesday attacked members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan, Oyo State.
They were attacked when prominent members of the APC in the state staged a solidarity walk in support of the 2023 presidential ambition of the former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu.
The APC members were led by the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, APC candidate in Oyo Central and Oyon North, Dr. Yunus Akintunde and Abdulfatai Buhari respectively.
Others are APC candidates in Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire federal constituency, Olamiju Alao-Akala, Idris Abiola Ajimobi, Dr. Fola Akinosun among others.
It was, however, gathered that some of the APC members who staged the solidarity walk were ambushed when they got to the Labiran area along the Beere -Oje-Gate Road.
It was gathered that no fewer than ten (10) were injured during the attack.
Folarin, while speaking on the attack, described the incident as unfortunate, adding that the injured members have been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
Folarin said, “As peaceful and law-abiding citizens, we will not take laws into our hands. To this end, I call on law enforcement agencies to do the needful.
“Not minding the deadly attacks on our members by Makinde’s agents of darkness, we’re continuing our walk for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu / Kashim Shettima. The injured members are receiving treatments at an undisclosed hospital.”
