The governorship standard-bearer of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Abia State in the 2023 general election, Apostle Ngozika Johnson-Ogbuneke, has challenged all the gubernatorial candidates to declare their assets as a way to sanitize the rot in the system and position Abia to become the state we are desirous of.
She threw the challenge during an interactive session with newsmen in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State, on Wednesday.
Johnson-Ogbuneke regretted that the current situation of Abia State does not need the same people who have been in the government system and queried why a man that led Abia State University and Abia State Polytechnic to its present deplorable condition should still have the temerity to come out Publicly to canvas for votes.
“We need fresh, credible and transparent candidates that will salvage Abia from this state of this quagmire”, she posited.
The Abia gubernatorial candidate also reiterated her readiness to declare her source of income publicly and urged her opponents to come out openly and tell Abians their sources of revenue too.
Johnson-Ogbuneke further used the medium to urge all the eligible voters to register in the ongoing Voter Registration exercise.
“That year 2023 election will be one that will measure the credibility of ndi-Abia by their choices in voting in credible candidates to govern them. It will not be business as usual”, the SDP Standard-bearer submitted.
Johnson-Ogbuneke will battle for the revered seat of the Governor of Abia State in the coming main elections in the state against Alex Otti, gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Uche Ogah (APC), Uchenna Ikonne (PDP), and Greg Ibe of (APGA).
