Former federal Lawmaker, Shehu Sani has called on the National Assembly to consider the Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho while putting up measures to rescue the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice from detention in the United Kingdom.
Recall that the Ekweremadus were arrested and detained by the UK authority last week for allegedly facilitating the travel of an underaged Nigerian for organ harvesting.
The Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, on Wednesday, said a delegation from its Committee on Foreign Affairs would pay a visit to the detained couple and work with the UK authority in ensuring their release.
However, Sani, a former governorship aspirant in Kaduna State, while reacting to the efforts of the lawmakers, urged them to extend the good gestures offered to Ekweremadu to Igboho who was also arrested and detained in Benin Republic in 2021.
A tweet on his Twitter handle reads, “Ekwerenmadu deserve all the necessary consular support he needs. The response of the NASS is in the right direction. But the same should be extended to Sunday Igboho”.
