Nigeria needs to be rescued and put on an improved trajectory of growth which only the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, can do.
The Director-General, of the party’s Presidential Campaign Committee, PCC, in Kwara State, Dr Mahmud Tunde Ajeigbe, made this assertion in Ilorin on Tuesday at a press briefing where he announced that Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, presidential candidate of the party will storm the state on Thursday to flag off his campaign activities in the state.
The Director-General, who disclosed that the flag-off will hold at the Metropolitan Square, along Asa Dam road, in Ilorin, at 10 am, said with the current level of ineptitude and incompetence of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, government, “the PDP, has much more to offer Nigerians in terms of governance experience at managing a diverse country like Nigeria.”
He lamented that there has been a decline in major economic indices, including unprecedented poverty levels, worsening unemployment situations, increased level of insecurity and embarrassing levels of corruption.
Dr Ajeigbe further said: “It is incontrovertible that our candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is a versatile and highly experienced politician who has the capacity to take this country out of its current quagmire.”
Speaking on Kwara politics and the 2023 general elections, the Director-General, said the party had learnt its lessons and corrected mistakes committed which swept the party out of power in 2019.
He expressed confidence that the party is now sure of taking back the state in 2023 because the people have seen the difference now.
He also expressed confidence in the electoral umpire to conduct free, fair, credible and acceptable elections in the state, adding that the BVAS will be a game changer that will prevent attempts to rig elections.
Addressing the wrangling between the G5 governors and the party, Dr Ajeigbe assured that the disagreements would be resolved and the party would come out stronger for next year’s elections.
