Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress, APC Campaign Council, Gov. Simon Lalong, has approved the inclusion of some members of Kannywood into the council.
Lalong made the announcement in a statement signed by his Spokesperson, Dr Makut Macham, in Jos the state capital.
The APC presidential campaign DG said the inclusion of the actors was aimed at deepening the participation of creative artists from the northern region in the campaigns.
He said the Kannywood group has Abdul-Mahmud Amart as Director, Ismail Afakallah as Deputy Director and Sani Mu’azu, as the Secretary, with other leaders heading different divisions.
Lalong said the approval was the outcome of the recent visit of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu to Kano, where he met members of the group.
He said the APC presidential candidate had promised that Kannywood members would be given the opportunity to be part of the campaigns to showcase their talents while also helping the party win the forthcoming general elections, NAN reports.
