The National Rescue Movement, NRM, Katsina State chapter has called on the Governor Aminu Bello Masari-led government to address the current challenges faced by students in accessing their results for West African Examination Council, WAEC, and the National Examination Council, NECO.
Abubakar Birchi, the Secretary Katsina NRM chapter, observed that the current APC administration’s attitude towards non-payment of WAEC and NECO registration fees as at when due, since its inception is worrisome.
He also lamented that the present administration is dragging the state down by mishandling educational activities in the state.
“It is unfortunate and of great concern that two months after the release of the 2022 WAEC and 2 weeks after the release of 2022 NECO result, Katsina State public school candidates are yet to access their WAEC and NECO results, even as some students/parents paid their fees themselves,” Birchi said.
The Katsina NRM Secretary also lamented that as Nigerian tertiary institutions prepare for the 2022/2023 admission process, the inability of Katsina students to access their result is putting them at great disadvantage among other recruitment opportunities ongoing presently due to lack of access to their results.
“The party, therefore, gives the state government a 2-week ultimatum to do anything at its disposal, that will enable Katsina State candidates to access their results, or will mobilize all the concerned civil society and concerned students, for a massive peaceful protest across the state if the government fails to do the needful,” the Katsina NRM Secretary warned.
