The negotiator involved in the rescue of Abuja-Kaduna train attack victims and Publisher, Desert Herald, Tukur Mamu, has raised alarm over the deteriorating health condition of the remaining victims.
Over 60 train passengers were abducted in March 2022, after several others were killed and wounded.
ALPHA NEWS NG reports that their captors had demanded for the release of their colleagues and family members in various detention centres across the country, among other things, before the abducted victims could be released.
Although the federal government last week said it had fulfilled all the demands of the terrorists, the terrorists have held unto their victims.
Some victims, released in batches, allegedly paid ransom before their release.
However, in a statement released by the negotiator, Mamu, he said most of the victims were now sick owing to the rainy season.
According to him, even though he had disengaged from the negotiation to free the victims, he was still under pressure from their families.
He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to intensify efforts in securing their release immediately as the situation remained highly unpredictable.
