The Taraba State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has again reiterated its commitment to sustain efforts at sensitizing and enforcing registration for unregistered motorcycle operators in the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the state Commandant, Selina William and made available to media men on Sunday in Jalingo, the state capital.
The move, according to her, is part of the Command’s strategy for curbing criminal activities in the state.
She explained that the exercise was in compliance with the directives by the Acting Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu to FRSC formations nationwide.
Taraba State government had banned the use of motorcycles within Jalingo metropolis in 2012, leaving them to operate in the outskirts of the metropolises and other local government areas.”
With this development, the command under her leadership would work round the clock to clamp down on defaulters.
“The command is clamping down on the unregistered ones having realised that criminals use them to perpetrate evil in communities,” she said.
She maintained that the Command would continue to engage relevant stakeholders in this regard for total compliance aimed at improving the security situation of the state and the country at large.
