Following the insecurity in the country, Nasiru Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi emirate in Kano, has organized a prayer session to ask for divine intervention for the restoration of peaceful coexistence in the country, particularly in the North.
The prayer session which took place at the Bichi Central Mosque on Friday was attended by the Emir, district heads, clerics and residents, who prayed for an end to the security challenges in parts of the country.
Khalifa Lawal Abubakar Bichi, the Chief Imam of the Bichi emirate, while leading the prayer session, recited from the Holy Qur’an, followed by supplications for divine direction for the leadership and fellow citizens of the country.
While praying for divine intervention to end insecurity, the Imam cried for divine bountiful harvests during the rainy season, as well as God’s intervention in ensuring peaceful, free, fair and credible elections in 2023.
The Imam said, “We need to repent and seek forgiveness. All these are happening as a result of our habits and wrongdoings to the Almighty and to one another. May Allah forgive us all.”
Professor Yusuf Muhammad Sabo, the Chairman of Bichi Local Government Council, explained that the prayer session became inevitable considering the security challenges and the loss of lives and the destruction of unimaginable property in the country.
With the 2023 general elections drawing closer, he noted that there was a need for intense prayers for peace and good leadership in the country.
