Following the incessant attacks on innocent Nigerians by terrorists in different parts of the country, the Arewa Youth Assembly (AYA), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno for being a complete failure.
Mohammed Salihu Danlami, Speaker of the group in a statement lamented that as the victims of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna bound train marked 120 days in captivity, it was celebrated by the terrorist through a video depicting how they are being molested.
The statement explained, “As the victims of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna bound train marked 120 days in captivity, it was celebrated by the terrorist through a released video depicting how they (victims) are being molested.”
The Arewa Youth Assembly (AYA) stated that it shares in the pain and agony of the immediate families and friends of those in captivity and prayed God to intervene through His supernatural power and set the victims free.
The AYA noted that the non-performance of state actors led to the invasion of Kuje Maximum Prison, Abuja leading to the release of numerous arrested Boko Haram Commanders, saying that it shows that even Mr President in the Presidential Villa is not safe, as it is just a matter of time, the terrorists will draw inspiration from the Afghanistan Terrorist and take over leadership of the country.
The group said it has observed that the insult to the country supremacy wouldn’t have been possible if the National Security Adviser, who is supposed to guide Mr President had not run out of ideas.
“Since his appointment over seven years ago, we strongly believe that the man has run out of steam and does not have anything new to offer Nigerians, hence, the honourable thing for him to do is to pack his luggage and return to his retirement destination, where he fails to, Mr President should urgently sack him and get him replaced,” the group suggested.
The statement explained that youths would not participate in activities ahead of the 2023 general elections and the election proper if their brothers and sisters in captivity are not released.
The statement added that most of the Local Government Areas and communities are now under the control of either Ansaru Terrorists in North Central and North West or ISWAP in North East, saying that politicians are only welcome to their region when they have every reason to believe that their forests are free from bandits and terrorists.
The assembly strongly believed that if the number of monies budgeted for Security and Defence are deployed for such purposes, the wretched souls in the bushes would not have been able to withstand the armed forces.
The statement said Nigerians believe that the Armed Forces remains the most corrupt institution in the country, saying that there is a need to properly checkmate them by anti-graft agencies to ensure that the right thing is done for the security agencies to live up to expectations.
The assembly called on President Muhammadu Buhari to recall the circumstances behind the bomb explosion in Kawo that almost claimed life, which would have denied him the God-ordained time to be Nigeria’s democratically elected President and come hard on the terrorist elements who are sharing the legitimacy of government with him.
