Manchester United defender, Diogo Dalot has said that the only thing he knows about Cristiano Ronaldo’s situation is that the football icon has some family issues.
The Portugal international, however, asked his national team captain not to leave Manchester United.
Ronaldo has reportedly told the club he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer in order to play in the Champions League next season.
Ronaldo is also, according to reports, not happy with the Red Devils’ activities in the transfer market this summer.
His agent, Jorge Mendes has offered him to a number of clubs such as Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid.
Ronaldo did not travel with the rest of the Red Devils’ squad for their preseason tour of Australia and Asia, citing ‘family issues’.
United manager, Erik ten Hag is adamant the 37-year-old is part of his plans for the coming season and Dalot is also hopeful his countryman remains in Manchester. ‘
“I think Cristiano is important for us,” Dalot said.
“What we know is he is going through some family issues, we hope everything is OK and that’s how we do.”
