Chairman of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), Ishaq Usman Kasai, on Saturday, said bandits stormed Tabanni village of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State and kidnapped six people, including a seven-month-old baby.
He said that the incident took place on Friday afternoon.
Kassai confirmed that three married women, one teenage girl, one adult, as well as the seven-month-old baby were kidnapped.
He said that the terrorists came quietly without firing shots and took the victims away
The community leader lamented that the entire Tabanni villages were now always under threats of bandit attacks, adding that many of their people in those communities, as well as the surrounding areas, had become IDPs, as residents are leaving their homes daily.
He expressed pain over the plight of the people, adding that he received information from the Communities that since 6.30pm, people, mostly women and children were trekking to safety zones, even as it was raining
He said they would not stop appealing to the government to come to the aid of the IDPs as many were homeless.
As of the time of filing this report, there is no statement from either the government or the police.
