The Plateau State Police Command, on Friday, confirmed the killing of five persons by gunmen at Fobur community in Jos East Local Government Area of the state
The killing which took place on Friday morning left so many people wondering the motives of the assailant.
The Public Relations Officer (PPRO), of the Plateau State Command, Alabo Alfred, while confirming the incident, said security operatives were informed, immediately after the gunmen, had killed the victims and left the scene
He said the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area immediately alerted other security agencies, including Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), adding that security had been beefed up in the area.
The PPRO said it was not immediately ascertained the motives of the attackers as the area was not known for crisis, adding that security men were on the trail of the attackers.
ALPHA NEWS NG recalls that gunmen attacked the community early morning on Friday, as many were fast asleep.
The community which had no trace of crisis prior to the incident were curious about the sporadic shooting and as some decided to peep outside to see things for themselves, one person was shot in the process.
The gunmen reportedly shot another man in Fobur community where they kidnapped one Haruna Ajik.
Two other victims died around a primary school not far from the venue of the first incident, while the last two victims were shot at a place called Naton.
