Chelsea have entered the race to sign another Manchester City star, Nathan Ake, in addition to signing Raheem Sterling.
Chelsea are sure of securing a deal for Sterling, who has just a year remaining on his deal with City and has no plan to renew his contract.
The Blues are also in the market for a left-footed centre-back to replace Antonio Rudiger, who is now a Real Madrid player
And The Telegraph reports that the Blues boss, Tuchel ‘holds a long-term interest’ in Ake, who is a product of Chelsea’s youth team.
Chelsea did have the opportunity to exercise their £40 million buyback clause for Ake two seasons ago but opted against it, which paved the way for the former Southampton star to move to Manchester City.
The Netherlands international, however, has found it difficult securing a regular role at City, as City boss, Pep Guardiola prefers Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte as his defensive partnership.
Ake, who is hungry to play at the World Cup later this year, may seek to leave the Etihad in order to secure regular football.
Holland coach, Louis van Gaal has already warned his national team players that they could miss out if they aren’t getting enough minutes
